Following the recent elections, residents may be wondering what happens next, how the new arrangements will work, and when they can expect to hear from their newly elected West Surrey Councillors.
As preparations continue for the new Local Government Reorganisation, residents can find further information about the role of the new shadow authorities, alongside the responsibilities of existing Borough, District and Parish Councillors, on the Surrey Local Government Reorganisation Hub.
Catherine Young, one of the West Surrey Unitary Authority Councillors for the Horsleys, states:
”We are committed to ensuring residents remain informed throughout this period of transition and know where to go for advice and support should they need it. Updates and guidance will continue to be shared as further information becomes available.
The new Councillors will also be attending the Parish Council meetings across the areas we now represent on a regular basis. This will give us the opportunity to get to know local residents, understand the key issues affecting each village, and work closely with communities during this important period of change.
East and West Clandon will continue to be represented by me in my role as GBC Councillor for Clandon & Horsleys, ensuring continuity and ongoing support for local residents.”
